Why are Crystal Balls so clear?
"Crystal Balls" are usually created from clarified Quartz, meaning the quartz is crushed and heated, impurities removed, and then it is shaped into a sphere. Clarified crystal balls will be very clear, like glass. The only difference is that with glass you can see right through without any distortion, while clarified quartz spheres will be clear but with some distortion."
